Most software companies start with a product idea.

Orion started with 20 years of experience.

The same problem occurred everywhere. Executive teams making billion-dollar facility decisions based on static spreadsheets and often having to rely on gut instinct. These capital plans that took weeks or months to build often become outdated the day after they are presented to the board for approval.

I kept thinking: there has to be a better way to do this work without re-inventing the wheel every single time. Not just faster, but fundamentally better. Software that doesn't just help you plan, but enables planning that actually improves overall outcomes.

So I built a web-based strategic facility and capital planning tool. That became the foundation of Orion. The idea is to be able to develop in a few clicks, a robust, reliable, and implementable 10-15 year capital roadmap from high-level master planning information.

Now I'm building GatherWare. We're a small team of subject matter experts, as we've been in the rooms where these decisions get made. We know what's broken.
