This page explains what GatherWare does with information from people who visit gatherwareinc.com. It covers this marketing site only. Orion, the platform, is a separate product, and the agreement your organization signed governs the data you put into it.
The short version: what you type into one of our three forms comes to us and we use it to get back to you, an analytics service counts page visits in the background, and we sell none of it.
What we collect
Three forms on this site collect what you type into them, and filling in any of them is your choice. The only thing collected while you are simply reading is the analytics at the end of this list.
- The demo request form. Your name, work email, and organization, which we ask for. Your role, your organization type, which parts of Orion you want to see, and whatever you write in the message box, which we do not.
- The partner form. Your name, work email, and firm, which we ask for. Your role, your firm type, how you would like to work together, and whatever you write in the message box, which we do not.
- The case study form. Your work email. That is the entire form.
- With any of them. We also record when the submission arrived and which page you sent it from, so we know what you were reading when you decided to get in touch.
- Analytics. Our analytics service records that a visit happened and which pages it touched, using cookies stored in your browser. It also picks up the things your browser tells every website: an approximate location worked out from your IP address, your device and browser, and how you arrived here. We read it to learn which pages are worth keeping, not to work out who you are.
How we use it
We use what you send to reply to you, to arrange the demo or send the case study you asked for, and to follow up on whether Orion fits what you are trying to do. That is a sales conversation, and a person on our team has it with you.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it. We do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to be on. Beyond the service providers described below, who work for us, nobody outside GatherWare sees it.
Who processes it
Running a website and a sales process means a few companies handle this information on our behalf. Each is a service provider acting on our instructions, not an audience we hand your details to.
- Cloud hosting. A cloud infrastructure provider hosts this site and holds every form submission in a database inside our own account, stored in the United States. Our web server also keeps ordinary request logs there, the kind every web server keeps, which include IP addresses. We do not use those logs to build a picture of individual visitors.
- Sales tools. The workspace our sales team works from holds a copy of each submission and sends the internal email that tells us you got in touch. That email goes to us, not to you.
- Analytics. An analytics service counts visits and page views on our behalf, using cookies in your browser. It reports traffic patterns rather than named people. We have not connected it to the form submissions above, so a visit and an enquiry are not tied together, and we do not use it to follow an individual around the site.
- Video. The videos here do not load until you press play. Before that, all you have loaded is a still image from our own server. Press play and the player arrives from the video platform in its privacy-enhanced mode, which holds its tracking cookie back until the video actually starts, and from that moment that platform's privacy policy applies alongside this one.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send for as long as it is still relevant to a conversation about Orion. When it stops being relevant, we delete it. If you would rather we deleted it sooner, ask and we will.
Your choices, and how to reach us
Email us at the address below to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Tell us which of those you want and we will do it.
You never have to fill in any of them. Everything this site explains about Orion is readable without one, and email works just as well as a starting point.

If we change this page in a way that matters, we will move the effective date at the top of it.
